2.5 Customer Support Records
We collect and retain records of any correspondence, communications, inquiries, complaints, feedback, suggestions, or requests that you make or send to us through customer support channels, help centers, contact forms, email, in-app support features, social media messages, or any other communication methods. 2.7 Cookie & Tracking Data
We collect information through the use of cookies, web beacons, pixels, local storage, and similar tracking technologies as described in detail in our Cookies & Tracking Technology section below. This includes first-party cookies set by us and third-party cookies set by our service providers, advertising partners, and analytics providers. The information collected through these technologies includes your browsing behavior, preferences, device information, session data, authentication tokens, analytics data, advertising identifiers, and interaction patterns. We use both session cookies (which expire when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which remain on your device for a specified period or until you delete them). These technologies help us recognize you when you return to our Services, remember your preferences and settings, authenticate your account, analyze how you use our Services, measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns, deliver personalized content and advertisements, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the overall functionality and performance of our Services. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences, but disabling cookies may affect your ability to use certain features of our Services.
3. Your Consent & Rights
3.1 Consent Agreement
By accessing, browsing, registering for, downloading, installing, or using any of our Services in any manner, you automatically, voluntarily, and explicitly agree, acknowledge, and consent to allow Meetix to collect, receive, access, use, process, analyze, store, retain, transfer, share, and disclose your Personal Data, information, and content by all means, methods, and for all purposes as defined, described, and outlined throughout this Privacy Policy document and our Terms of Service. This consent includes, but is not limited to: the collection of data through cookies and similar tracking technologies; the processing of your information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy; the sharing of your information with third-party service providers, business partners, and other entities as described herein; the transfer of your data to servers and storage facilities located in various countries around the world; the use of your data for analytics, research, and service improvement purposes; and any other data processing activities necessary to provide, maintain, improve, and protect our Services. Your consent is informed, freely given, specific, and unambiguous, and you understand that by continuing to use our Services, you are reaffirming your consent to these data practices. You acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy and that you have been provided with adequate notice of our data collection and processing practices.
3.2 Withdrawal Rights
While you provide consent to our data practices by using our Services, you retain certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to withdraw your consent at any time. However, you acknowledge and understand that if you disagree with, object to, or do not consent to the usage, collection, processing, storage, sharing, or disclosure of your Personal Information or Data in one or more of the ways outlined, described, or permitted in this Privacy Policy, your sole and exclusive remedy is to immediately cease using our Services with immediate effect, delete your account if you have one, uninstall our Mobile Application from your devices, and refrain from accessing our Website or any other Services we provide. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. Please note that certain data processing activities are necessary for the provision of our Services, and withdrawing consent for such activities will prevent us from being able to provide the Services to you. Additionally, even after you stop using our Services or delete your account, we may retain certain information as permitted or required by law, as described in our data retention policies, or as necessary for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention, resolving disputes, enforcing our agreements, and complying with legal obligations. If you have questions about withdrawing consent or exercising your data rights, please contact us using the contact information provided in this Privacy Policy.
4. Social Network Integration
4.1 Third-Party Privacy Policies
When you choose to connect your Meetix account with, sign in through, or otherwise integrate with third-party social networking services such as Facebook, Google, Apple, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, or other similar platforms (collectively, "Social Networks"), you acknowledge and agree that any Personal Data, information, or content collected by us via these Social Networks, or shared with us by these Social Networks, is also subject to, governed by, and processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy, terms of service, data use policy, and other applicable policies of such Social Networks. You understand that these third-party Social Networks have their own independent privacy practices and data handling procedures, and that by using Social Network integration features, you are agreeing to the privacy policies of both Meetix and the relevant Social Network. We encourage you to review and understand the privacy policies of any Social Networks you connect with our Services, as we are not responsible for their data practices. The information we receive from Social Networks depends on your privacy settings with those services and the permissions you grant when connecting your accounts. Different Social Networks may provide us with different types and amounts of information based on their policies and your settings.
4.2 Social Account Registration
If you choose to use a Social Network to create an account, register for, or sign in to our Services (such as using "Sign in with Facebook", "Sign in with Google", "Sign in with Apple", or similar social login features), you explicitly authorize, permit, and grant us the right, permission, and license to access, collect, receive, use, process, and store your email address and any other Personal Data, profile information, public information, or friend information disclosed to us, shared with us, or made available to us by the relevant Social Network through their APIs, authentication protocols, or data sharing mechanisms. This information may be used for multiple purposes including your personal identification and authentication, account creation and management, verifying your identity, the auto-filling and pre-population of your profile information on Meetix (such as your name, profile picture, age, and other demographic information), personalizing your experience on our Services, connecting you with friends or contacts who also use our Services, and any other purposes described in this Privacy Policy. By using social login features, you understand that you are directing the Social Network to share your information with us, and you consent to such sharing and our subsequent use of that information. You can typically disconnect your Meetix account from Social Networks through your account settings, but this may limit certain features or functionalities of our Services.
4.3 Contact Discovery
By choosing to use a Social Network to create a profile, register an account, or sign in to Meetix, you also explicitly provide us with permission, authorization, and consent to access, retrieve, and use your contacts, friends list, social connections, or similar relationship information from the relevant Social Network for various purposes including helping your friends and contacts discover our Services, suggesting connections between users who know each other, notifying your contacts about your use of our Services (if you choose to enable such features), facilitating social features within our Services, and enhancing the social and community aspects of our platform. This contact information may include names, profile information, and other data about your Social Network connections. We may use this information to send invitations or notifications to your contacts on your behalf, to suggest potential connections or friends within our Services, or to provide social features such as showing you which of your contacts are also using Meetix. You can typically control whether we access your contacts and how we use this information through your Social Network privacy settings and our Services' privacy settings. If you do not wish to share your contacts with us, you should not use Social Network integration features or should adjust your settings accordingly.
4.4 Widget Data Collection
When you interact with Social Network widgets, plugins, buttons, or embedded features integrated into our Services (such as Facebook "Like" buttons, Twitter "Tweet" buttons, Pinterest "Pin" buttons, social sharing tools, or similar social media integration features), you acknowledge, understand, and agree to allow us and the relevant Social Networks to collect your Personal Data, browsing information, and interaction data through these social network widgets and features. This data collection occurs in multiple scenarios: (a) when you do not have an active logged-in session with the Social Network but interact with or view pages containing their widgets; (b) when you have never created an account with or interacted with the Social Network previously but visit pages on our Services that contain their widgets or tracking technologies; and (c) when you are logged in to the Social Network and interact with their features on our Services. These widgets and plugins may set cookies, collect information about your browsing activities, track your interactions, and report this information back to the Social Network even if you do not click on or actively interact with the widget. The Social Networks may use this information for their own purposes as described in their privacy policies, including for analytics, advertising, and building profiles about users across different websites and services.
4.5 Settings Control
You maintain the ability and right to alter, change, modify, or revoke the Personal Data and information that is disclosed, shared, or made available to us by Social Networks at any time by accessing and changing your privacy settings, permissions, and preferences on the relevant third-party Social Network platform. You can also stop, disable, or disconnect interactions between our Services and Social Networks at any time by revoking permissions, disconnecting your accounts, or adjusting your settings through the third-party provider's platform, through our Services' account settings, or by contacting us directly. However, you acknowledge and understand that in these cases, if you restrict or revoke our access to information from Social Networks, we cannot guarantee that you will retain full, complete, or unrestricted access to all features and functionalities of our Services, as some features may rely on Social Network integration or the information provided by Social Networks to function properly. Limiting our access to Social Network data may result in a degraded user experience, limited functionality, inability to use certain features, or other restrictions on your use of our Services. Any information that was previously shared with us before you changed your settings may continue to be retained and used in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable laws.
5. Cookies & Tracking Technology
5.1 What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files, data files, or pieces of information that are downloaded, stored, and saved on your computer, smartphone, tablet, or other device when you visit, access, or use our Website or Mobile Application. Cookies typically contain a unique identifier, the name of the website or domain that created the cookie, information about your device and browsing behavior, preferences, and other data. Similar technologies include web beacons (also known as pixel tags or clear GIFs), local storage, session storage, flash cookies, device fingerprinting, and other tracking technologies that serve similar purposes. These technologies allow us and third parties to recognize your device, remember information about your visit, track your activities across our Services and other websites, deliver personalized content and advertisements, and provide various features and functionalities. Cookies and similar technologies can be classified as first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by other companies whose services we use), and as session-based (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent (remain on your device for a set period or until manually deleted). The use of cookies and tracking technologies is standard practice for most websites and applications and helps provide a better user experience.
5.2 Session Management
We reserve the right to use cookies and similar tracking technologies to locally store, maintain, and manage certain forms of information, data, and preferences each and every time you access, visit, or make use of our Services. This includes the deployment of essential session cookies and authentication cookies which are strictly necessary for the operation of our Services. Session cookies are used to authenticate users, verify your identity, support and maintain user sessions, keep you logged in as you navigate between different pages or sections of our Services, maintain the state of your session, prevent the need to re-enter login credentials and password information repeatedly, avoid re-authenticating with Social Networks each time you navigate to a new page or screen, remember items in your shopping cart or selections you've made, maintain your place in multi-step processes, and provide security features such as detecting fraudulent login attempts. These cookies are essential for the basic functionality of our Services, and without them, many core features would not work properly. Session cookies typically expire and are deleted when you close your browser or end your session, while some authentication cookies may persist for a longer period to keep you logged in across multiple sessions if you choose the "remember me" or similar option.
5.3 Social Media Integration
The use of cookies and tracking technologies allows our Services to integrate with, connect to, and interact with Social Networks, social media platforms, and other third-party platforms and services. When you visit pages on our Services that contain social media features, widgets, buttons, or plugins (such as Facebook "Like" or "Share" buttons, Twitter "Tweet" buttons, Instagram embeds, LinkedIn share features, or similar social media integration tools), these features may set their own cookies on your device, collect information about your browsing activities, track your interactions, and report data back to the Social Network that provided the feature. Social Network widgets, plugins, and tracking technologies may create and set their own third-party cookie files and collect data from users in multiple scenarios: when users have active logged-in sessions with the Social Network; when users don't have active sessions with the Social Network but have previously logged in; and even when users have never created an account with or interacted with the relevant Social Network previously in any way. These Social Network cookies and tracking technologies operate independently and are governed by the privacy policies of the respective Social Networks, not by our Privacy Policy. The information collected by Social Networks through these cookies may be used for various purposes including analytics, advertising targeting, building user profiles across websites, measuring engagement, and other purposes described in their privacy policies.
5.4 Payment Processing
Cookies and similar technologies are used to facilitate, enable, process, and support in-app payments, in-app purchases, subscription payments, and other financial transactions, as well as to provide payment processing instructions, maintain payment security, prevent fraud, and manage billing on both our Mobile Application and Website. These payment-related cookies may be created, set, and managed by us as well as by third-party entities such as payment processors, payment gateways, payment systems, payment service providers, payment aggregators, merchant services, credit card processors, billing platforms, subscription management services (such as Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Stripe, PayPal, or other payment processing companies), and other third-party service providers involved in processing payments and managing subscriptions. Payment cookies help verify your identity during transactions, remember your payment preferences, detect and prevent fraudulent transactions, comply with payment card industry security standards, process recurring subscription payments, manage your subscription status, and provide a smooth checkout experience. These third-party payment processors have their own privacy policies and data practices, and we encourage you to review their policies to understand how they handle your payment information.
5.5 Personalization Features
Cookies and tracking technologies are used extensively to provide users with personalized, customized, and tailored services, experiences, content, recommendations, and features throughout our Services. Personalization cookies remember your preferences, settings, and choices, and help us deliver a more relevant and customized experience. This includes, but is not limited to: displaying our Mobile Application and Website in your preferred language or the language selected by you; remembering your geographic location preferences; maintaining your display preferences such as theme, layout, or viewing mode; remembering your communication preferences and notification settings; providing personalized content recommendations based on your interests and usage patterns; suggesting potential matches or connections based on your preferences and behavior; remembering your search history and filters; customizing the user interface based on your device type and screen size; maintaining your privacy and account settings; remembering items you've viewed or interacted with; providing personalized greetings or messages; and any other personalization features designed to enhance your individual user experience. These personalization cookies improve the usability and relevance of our Services and help us provide features and content that are most likely to interest you.
5.6 Analytics & Improvement
Cookies and tracking technologies allow Meetix and our third-party analytics service providers to obtain, collect, aggregate, analyze, and process detailed data and information which helps us better understand how users are discovering, accessing, using, interacting with, navigating through, and experiencing our Services. This analytics data is used to measure performance, identify issues, track trends, conduct research, generate insights, and continuously improve our Services in the future. We use both our own first-party analytics cookies and third-party analytics cookies created, set, and managed by external analytics service providers such as Google Analytics, Facebook Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar analytics platforms which collect, analyze, process, and store extensive information about user behavior, demographics, interests, and engagement. The data collected through analytics cookies includes information about page views, screen views, clicks, navigation paths, feature usage, session duration, bounce rates, conversion rates, traffic sources, referral sources, device information, browser information, operating system information, geographic location, user demographics, engagement metrics, performance metrics, error logs, and many other data points. This information is typically aggregated and analyzed in anonymized or pseudonymized form to generate statistical reports, identify patterns and trends, measure the effectiveness of features and campaigns, understand user behavior and preferences, identify technical issues or bugs, optimize user experience, develop new features, and make data-driven decisions about product development and business strategy. You can learn more about how analytics providers use data by visiting their privacy policies.
6. Payment Information
6.1 Payment Data Collection
When you purchase, acquire, or subscribe to any paid services, premium features, subscriptions, or other paid offerings available through our Mobile Application (whether through in-app purchases, subscriptions managed through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or other app distribution platforms), we want to make clear that Meetix does not directly store, collect, process, or have access to your sensitive payment card information such as full credit card numbers, debit card numbers, card verification values (CVV), card security codes, banking information, or other sensitive financial account details. All payment processing for mobile in-app purchases is handled securely by the respective app store platform (Apple, Google, etc.) or by third-party payment processors in accordance with industry security standards including PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). However, we may receive limited transaction-related information from these payment processors such as transaction IDs, purchase confirmation details, subscription status information, purchase history, receipt data, pricing information, subscription renewal dates, and basic information about successful or failed transactions. We use this limited information solely for purposes of providing you with the services you purchased, managing your subscription, providing customer support, preventing fraud and abuse, complying with legal obligations, and maintaining our business records. Your full payment information is handled solely by the payment processors and is subject to their privacy policies and security practices.
6.2 Third-Party Payment Processing
When you make a purchase, subscribe to paid services, or engage in any financial transaction through our Mobile Application, Website, or Services, you explicitly acknowledge, understand, and agree that third-party payment systems, payment processors, payment service providers, payment gateways, merchant services, billing platforms, subscription management services, financial institutions, card networks, app store platforms (such as Apple's App Store or Google Play Store), and payment aggregators (collectively, "Payment Processors") will collect, process, store, and use your Personal Information, financial information, payment card information, transaction data, device information, and other related data as necessary to process your payments and manage your subscriptions. You further agree that these Payment Processors may create, set, and manage cookie files, tracking technologies, and other data collection mechanisms on your device as described throughout this Privacy Policy for purposes including payment processing, fraud prevention, security verification, compliance with financial regulations, transaction authentication, and maintaining records of your purchase history. The collection, use, storage, and sharing of your payment information by these third-party Payment Processors is governed by their own privacy policies, terms of service, and data practices, which are independent of and not controlled by Meetix. We strongly encourage you to review the privacy policies and terms of service of these Payment Processors to understand their data handling practices. We are not responsible for the data practices, security measures, or privacy policies of third-party Payment Processors, and we disclaim any liability related to their handling of your payment information.

8.1 User Information Sharing
We share certain Personal Data and profile information with other users of our Services as an essential and necessary part of providing our social networking and video chat platform. When you create a profile and use our Services, other users may be able to see and access certain information about you, including but not limited to: your username, display name, or nickname; your profile pictures and photos you upload; your age, gender, and location (if you choose to display it); your bio, description, or "about me" section; your interests, preferences, and other profile information you choose to share; your online status and activity status; the content you post, share, or make public; your connections, friends, or followers (depending on your privacy settings); and other information you make publicly available through your profile or activities. The specific information visible to other users depends on your privacy settings, the features you use, and the context of your interactions. You can typically control what information is visible to others through your privacy settings and profile configuration. You should be mindful about what information you choose to share or display publicly, as other users may be able to view, screenshot, download, or save this information, and once shared, you may not be able to fully control how it is used or distributed by others. By using our Services, you acknowledge and consent to this sharing of your information with other users as an integral part of the social and interactive nature of our platform.
8.2 Service Providers & Partners
We share your Personal Data and other information with various third-party service providers, vendors, contractors, consultants, business partners, technology partners, and other external entities who perform services, provide functionality, or conduct activities on our behalf or in connection with our Services. These third parties may include, but are not limited to: cloud hosting providers and data center operators who store our data and host our infrastructure; content delivery networks (CDNs) that help deliver our content efficiently; customer support and help desk service providers who assist with user support; email service providers and communication platforms that send emails and notifications on our behalf; analytics providers and data analytics platforms who help us understand user behavior; payment processors and subscription management services who handle billing and payments; advertising networks, ad tech providers, and marketing platforms that help us deliver advertising; security service providers who help protect our Services from threats and attacks; fraud prevention and identity verification services; content moderation services and trust and safety providers; customer relationship management (CRM) platforms; survey and feedback tools; A/B testing and experimentation platforms; push notification services; SMS and text messaging services; social media platforms and integration partners; map and location service providers; video streaming and WebRTC infrastructure providers; and other technology vendors and service providers that enable various features and functionalities of our Services. These service providers and partners are granted access to your information only as necessary to perform their specific functions and are contractually obligated to handle your data securely, use it only for the purposes for which it was shared, and comply with applicable privacy laws. However, we are not responsible for how these third parties handle your data, and we recommend reviewing their privacy policies.
8.3 Advertising Networks
We may share your Personal Data, demographic information, interests, preferences, device information, usage data, behavioral data, and other information with third-party advertising networks, ad tech companies, advertising partners, demand-side platforms (DSPs), supply-side platforms (SSPs), ad exchanges, advertising agencies, marketing partners, and other entities involved in the digital advertising ecosystem for the purposes of delivering personalized advertisements, targeted advertising, behavioral advertising, interest-based advertising, remarketing, retargeting, cross-device advertising, and measuring advertising effectiveness. These advertising partners may use the information we share, combined with information they collect from other sources, to build detailed profiles about you, understand your interests and preferences, predict your behavior, segment you into audience categories, deliver advertisements that are more relevant to you, measure whether you viewed or clicked on ads, track conversions and attribution, optimize advertising campaigns, and provide reporting about advertising performance. The information shared with advertising networks may include persistent identifiers such as cookie IDs, mobile advertising IDs (such as Apple's IDFA or Google's Android Advertising ID), device fingerprints, IP addresses, and other identifiers that can be used to recognize you across different websites, apps, and devices. These advertising partners may also create their own cookies and use tracking technologies when you interact with ads. You can learn more about interest-based advertising and how to opt out through industry self-regulatory organizations such as the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA), Network Advertising Initiative (NAI), or European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA), and you can manage advertising preferences in your device settings.
8.4 Content Sharing Agreement
By registering for, creating an account with, or using our Services, you expressly, explicitly, and unequivocally acknowledge, understand, consent to, and agree that any and all information, data, and Personal Data provided by you when you register for or create an account with our Services, as well as the content you create, generate, upload, post, share, transmit, or otherwise make available when using our Services (including without limitation, profile information, photographs, images, profile pictures, videos, text content, messages, chat messages, posts, comments, HTML, URLs, hyperlinks, pictures, multimedia content, user-generated content, and any other content or materials of any kind), may be and will be recorded, captured, collected, processed, stored, retained, published, displayed, distributed, shared, and made available and visible to other users of our Services, the broader user community, and potentially the general public. Furthermore, you acknowledge and agree that other users may be able to view your profile, follow you, connect with you, or subscribe to your content, and your followers, connections, or friends can see, view, access, download, screenshot, save, share, and interact with the user-contributed content that you have uploaded, posted, or made available through our Services. You understand that once you share content through our Services, you may not be able to control how other users use, share, distribute, or republish that content, and that content may persist even after you delete it from our Services due to caching, screenshots, downloads, or sharing by other users. You should exercise caution and good judgment about what personal information and content you choose to share through our Services.
8.5 Data Storage Location
Your Personal Data, information, content, and other data collected through our Services may be transferred to, transmitted to, stored in, processed in, and accessed from servers, data centers, cloud infrastructure, and facilities located in any country, jurisdiction, or geographic region in which we operate, provide services, maintain infrastructure, or utilize third-party service providers, partners, or contractors, which may include countries outside of your country of residence or outside of the European Economic Area (EEA), and which may have different, less stringent, or less protective data protection laws, privacy laws, or security standards than the laws of your jurisdiction. By accessing, using, or registering for our Services, you explicitly acknowledge, understand, consent to, and agree to any such international transfer, cross-border transfer, transmission, storage, and processing of your information and data outside of your country of residence, jurisdiction, or region. These international data transfers are necessary for us to provide our Services to a global user base, operate our business efficiently, and work with service providers and partners around the world. Where required by law, we implement appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, such as standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, or other legal mechanisms to protect your data when it is transferred across borders. However, you acknowledge that data protection laws and practices vary significantly by country, and data stored or processed in other countries may be subject to lawful access by government authorities, law enforcement, courts, or regulatory agencies in those countries under their local laws.
9. Your Profile Information
9.1 Profile Creation
By registering for, signing up for, creating an account with, or using our Services in any manner, you automatically and immediately obtain, receive, and are assigned a personal user profile that serves as your identity and presence on our platform. This profile is created to represent you within our Services and to enable other users to discover, view, and interact with you. Your profile is the primary means through which you present yourself to the community, establish your identity within our platform, connect with other users, participate in video chats and other social features, and engage with the various functionalities of our Services. The profile is an essential and integral component of our Services, and having a profile is necessary to access and use most features of our platform. Your profile will be assigned a unique identifier and will be visible to other users in accordance with your privacy settings and the nature of our Services as a social networking and video chat platform.
9.2 Profile Customization
You have the option, ability, and discretion to customize your profile by choosing to add, include, upload, enter, or provide any information, content, data, details, photos, videos, text, descriptions, or materials that you desire, prefer, or wish to share to your profile, including your Personal Data, personally identifiable information, demographic information, interests, preferences, bio or description, photos and images, and any other content you choose to make part of your profile. You have control over what information you include in your profile, and you can choose to make your profile as detailed or as minimal as you prefer. However, you should be aware that the information you choose to add to your profile may be visible to other users of our Services, and you should exercise caution and good judgment when deciding what personal information to display. We recommend against including sensitive personal information such as financial information, government-issued identification numbers, precise home addresses, or other information that could compromise your privacy or security if viewed by others. You are solely responsible for the information you choose to include in your profile, and you should regularly review and update your profile information to ensure it remains accurate and appropriate. Remember that profile information may be used by us and by other users as described in this Privacy Policy, and once shared, you may not be able to fully control how that information is used or distributed.
9.3 Profile Visibility
You acknowledge, understand, and agree that other users of our Services will be able to see, view, access, and have visibility to any and all information, content, data, photos, videos, text, and materials that you choose to display, show, include, add, upload, or make available on your profile or through your use of our Services. The extent of profile visibility depends on several factors including the nature of our Services as a social networking and video chat platform, your privacy settings and preferences, the features you choose to use, and how you interact with other users. In most cases, to facilitate connections and interactions between users, profile information is visible to other users who view your profile, match with you, connect with you in video chats, or encounter you while using our Services. This visibility is an essential aspect of how our social networking and video chat platform functions, as it enables users to learn about each other, decide whether to connect, and facilitate meaningful interactions. You should assume that any information you include in your profile or share through our Services may be seen by other users, and you should not include information in your profile that you are not comfortable sharing with others. Additionally, you should be aware that other users may screenshot, save, download, or otherwise capture information from your profile, and you will not be able to control or prevent such actions once information is made visible. We encourage you to regularly review your profile and privacy settings to ensure you are comfortable with what information is visible to others.
10. Data Storage & Retention
10.1 Storage Duration
We store, retain, and maintain your Personal Data, information, content, and other data collected through our Services for the length of time, duration, or period that is required, necessary, appropriate, or reasonable to achieve the intended purposes for which the data was originally collected, as well as for any additional purposes described in this Privacy Policy or required by applicable laws. The specific retention period for different types of data varies depending on the nature of the data, the purposes for which it is used, legal requirements, business needs, and other relevant factors. For example, account information and profile data is typically retained for as long as your account remains active and for a period after account deletion as described below; transactional data and billing information may be retained for longer periods to comply with financial regulations, tax requirements, and accounting standards; communications and customer support records may be retained to provide ongoing support and resolve disputes; security and fraud prevention data may be retained to protect our Services and users; and analytics data is often retained in aggregated or anonymized form for extended periods to understand trends and improve our Services over time. We regularly review the data we retain and delete or anonymize data that is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected or required to be retained by law.
10.2 Post-Service Storage
We expressly maintain and reserve the right, authority, and ability to store, retain, preserve, and keep your Personal Data, information, content, and other data after you cease to use our Services, discontinue using our Services, stop accessing our Services, delete your account, close your account, or terminate your relationship with Meetix, if and to the extent that the continued storage, retention, or preservation of such data is reasonably necessary, legally required, or appropriate to fulfill our legal obligations, comply with applicable laws and regulations, resolve disputes or claims, enforce our agreements and Terms of Service, prevent fraud and abuse, prevent illegal actions and violations, protect against legal liability, prevent violation or infringement of third-party copyrights or other intellectual property rights, meet data retention requirements mandated by legislation and law, comply with regulatory requirements, respond to legal processes such as subpoenas or court orders, maintain business records, protect the rights and safety of Meetix and our users, conduct internal audits and investigations, and any other purpose as described in this Privacy Policy or any other agreement, contract, or understanding made with Meetix. The retention period for data after account deletion or service termination varies depending on the type of data and the specific legal or business requirements, but may extend for several years in some cases. Even after you delete your account, copies of your data may persist in backups, caches, or archives for some period before being permanently deleted. Additionally, some content you shared with other users (such as messages) may remain visible to those users even after you delete your account, as that content is part of their experience and communication history.
10.3 Message History
Chat messages, text communications, video chat metadata, conversation records, and other communications and interactions that you send, transmit, share, or engage in while using our Services may be stored, retained, preserved, and maintained for an extended period of time, potentially indefinitely or for an infinite amount of time, for multiple important purposes including: enabling users to view, access, and review the history of their own messaging and communications; providing continuity of conversations across sessions and devices; allowing users to refer back to previous discussions and information shared; facilitating customer support and dispute resolution by allowing us to review communication history when needed; complying with legal obligations and responding to lawful requests for communication records; preventing and investigating abuse, harassment, or violations of our Terms; protecting against fraud and illegal activity; and maintaining the integrity and functionality of our Services. While video chat sessions themselves are typically not recorded or stored, metadata about those sessions (such as duration, participants, and connection quality) may be retained. You should assume that messages and communications sent through our Services may be stored and accessible for extended periods, and you should not share information through our Services that you would not want to be stored or potentially accessed in the future. Other users in your conversations also have access to the messages and can screenshot, save, or otherwise preserve them independently of our systems. Once you send a message, you cannot fully control what happens to that content, and deleting a message from your view does not necessarily delete it from recipients' views or from our systems.
11. Data Protection & Security
11.1 Security Measures
We implement, employ, utilize, and maintain proper, appropriate, reasonable, and commercially standard technical, administrative, organizational, and physical security measures, safeguards, controls, and procedures designed and intended to protect the Personal Data and information of our users from loss, theft, destruction, damage, corruption, alteration, modification, unauthorized or unlawful access, unauthorized disclosure, accidental disclosure, misuse, abuse, and any other illegal, improper, or unauthorized forms of processing, handling, or treatment. Our security measures include, but are not limited to: encryption of data in transit using SSL/TLS protocols and encryption of sensitive data at rest; secure authentication mechanisms including password hashing and optional two-factor authentication; access controls and authorization systems to limit who can access user data; regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing; security monitoring and logging systems to detect suspicious activity; firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other network security tools; secure coding practices and regular security reviews of our code; background checks and security training for employees with access to user data; physical security controls at data centers and facilities; incident response procedures and breach notification protocols; regular backups and disaster recovery plans; and compliance with applicable security standards and best practices. We take data security seriously and continuously work to improve our security posture and protect user data from emerging threats.
11.2 Industry Standards
We implement, employ, and utilize modern, up-to-date, current, and industry-standard means, methods, technologies, tools, practices, procedures, and protocols of protection and security for the Personal Data of all users in accordance with and appropriate to the current state of technology, the nature and scope of our Services, the sensitivity of the data we process, the costs of implementation, the state of the industry, commonly accepted best practices, recognized security frameworks and standards, and the risks presented by potential security threats and data breaches. Our security practices are informed by industry standards such as ISO 27001, NIST frameworks, OWASP guidelines for web application security, and other recognized security standards and best practices applicable to online services, social networking platforms, and video chat applications. We regularly review and update our security measures to address evolving threats, incorporate new security technologies, respond to discovered vulnerabilities, and maintain alignment with current industry standards and best practices. However, security is an ongoing process, and despite our best efforts, no security measures can provide absolute protection against all possible threats.
11.3 Security Limitations
While we implement robust security measures to protect your Personal Data, you acknowledge, understand, and agree that due to the inherent nature of the Internet, telecommunications networks, computer systems, and information technology, as well as unforeseen dangers, threats, vulnerabilities, risks, attacks, and malicious activities on the Internet and in the digital environment, we cannot and do not fully guarantee, warrant, or promise that all Personal Data, information, content, or communications will be completely protected from, immune to, or secure against unauthorized access, interception, disclosure, modification, alteration, destruction, loss, theft, hacking, cyber attacks, data breaches, security incidents, technical failures, or other security compromises under all circumstances. No method of transmission over the Internet, method of electronic storage, system of data protection, or security measure is 100% secure, invulnerable, or impenetrable, and all systems and services are subject to potential security vulnerabilities and risks. In the event of a data breach or security incident that compromises your Personal Data, we will take appropriate steps to investigate the incident, mitigate any harm, notify affected users as required by applicable laws, and cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory authorities as appropriate. By using our Services, you acknowledge and accept these inherent security risks and limitations, and you agree that we shall not be held liable for any unauthorized access to or use of your information that occurs despite our security measures, except to the extent required by applicable law.
12. External URLs & Third-Party Sites
12.1 External Links
We reserve the right, option, and discretion to place, include, display, embed, or make available external links, hyperlinks, URLs, and references to third-party websites, external websites, third-party services, third-party applications, third-party platforms, third-party content, third-party goods, third-party products, partner websites, affiliated websites, sponsor websites, advertiser websites, and other external resources throughout our Services, including on our Website, within our Mobile Application, in communications we send, in user-generated content, and in any other locations within our Services. These external links may be provided for various purposes including offering additional resources or information, providing access to third-party services or features that integrate with our Services, directing users to partner or affiliate websites, displaying advertisements or sponsored content, enabling social media sharing, allowing users to make purchases from third-party merchants, or enhancing the functionality and utility of our Services. The presence of external links does not imply endorsement, approval, sponsorship, or affiliation with the linked websites or their content, unless explicitly stated otherwise. External links may open in new browser windows or tabs, or may redirect you away from our Services. We provide these links as a convenience and resource for our users, but we have no control over the content, privacy practices, security, or operations of external websites.
12.2 Third-Party Responsibility
While we make reasonable efforts to link only to reputable, trustworthy, legitimate, and respected websites, services, and resources, and we attempt to always provide links and URLs that lead to high-quality, safe, and appropriate external websites, you acknowledge and agree that we do not control, operate, manage, monitor, review, endorse, approve, or take responsibility for any third-party websites, their content, their products or services, their business practices, their privacy policies, their security measures, their data handling practices, or any actions taken by users on such external websites. We do not accept, assume, or bear any responsibility, liability, or obligation for the contents, materials, information, products, services, offerings, advertisements, functionality, security, privacy practices, data collection practices, accuracy, completeness, legality, appropriateness, safety, or quality of any third-party websites or services linked from our Services. Third-party websites operate independently and are not under our control. We are not responsible for any damages, losses, problems, issues, security breaches, privacy violations, or negative consequences that may result from your access to, use of, reliance on, or interactions with any third-party websites or services, even if accessed through links provided on our Services. You access and use third-party websites and services at your own risk and discretion.
12.3 External Privacy Policies
When you click on, navigate to, access, visit, or use any third-party website, external website, linked website, or third-party service from our Services, you acknowledge, understand, and agree that any Personal Data, information, content, payment information, or other data that you provide, submit, share, or transmit to that third-party website or service is managed, controlled, collected, processed, stored, used, shared, and handled exclusively by, and in accordance with, the Privacy Policy, terms of service, data practices, and policies of that particular third-party website or service, and not by this Privacy Policy or by Meetix. Each third-party website has its own independent privacy policy, data collection practices, security measures, and terms of service that govern how they handle your information, and these may differ significantly from our practices and policies. We do not assume, accept, or take any responsibility, liability, or obligation for the Personal Data, information, or content you decide to provide, submit, or share with third-party websites or services, nor for how those third parties collect, use, store, share, or protect your information. Before providing any personal information to a third-party website, we strongly recommend and encourage you to carefully read and review their privacy policy and terms of service to understand their data practices. You should exercise caution when providing personal information to any website, and you should verify the identity and legitimacy of websites before sharing sensitive information. By clicking on external links and accessing third-party websites, you are doing so at your own risk and subject to the policies of those third parties.
13. Your Data Rights & Control
13.1 Access Rights
Subject to applicable laws and regulations (including data protection laws such as GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy laws that may apply to you based on your location), you may have the right to request, obtain, and receive a copy of your Personal Data, information, and content that is stored, maintained, or held by us at any time. This right of access allows you to understand what personal information we have about you, how we obtained it, how we are using it, and with whom we have shared it. To exercise your right of access, you may submit a request through the contact methods provided in this Privacy Policy or through your account settings if such functionality is available. When you submit an access request, we may ask you to verify your identity to protect your privacy and security and to prevent unauthorized access to your data. We will respond to your request within the timeframe required by applicable laws, typically within 30-45 days, although this may be extended in certain circumstances. We will provide your data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format to the extent required by applicable law. Please note that we may charge a reasonable fee for access requests in certain circumstances as permitted by law, particularly for repetitive or excessive requests. We may also decline requests that are manifestly unfounded, excessive, or that would adversely affect the privacy or rights of others.
13.2 Correction & Deletion
You have the right to correct, update, modify, change, edit, amend, or delete your Personal Data, profile information, account information, and content, or to request us to do so on your behalf, subject to applicable laws and our Terms of Service. You can typically update most of your profile information and account settings directly through your account settings within our Services. If you wish to delete your account and personal data, the process varies by platform: For iOS users, Personal Data can be deleted by agreeing to delete your profile through the app's account deletion feature, which will initiate an automated deletion process that removes your personal information from our active systems in accordance with our data retention policies. For Android users and for users on other platforms, you may need to contact us at [email protected] or through other provided contact methods to request account and data deletion. In all cases, regardless of platform, users can contact the provided email address to request Personal Data deletion or to exercise other data rights. When you request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your Personal Data from our active systems within a reasonable timeframe as required by law, typically within 30-90 days. However, please note that we may retain certain information after account deletion as permitted or required by law, as described in our data retention section, including for purposes such as complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, preventing fraud, enforcing our agreements, and maintaining business records. Additionally, some content may remain visible to other users if it was shared with them (such as messages sent to others), and we cannot control copies of your data that other users may have saved, downloaded, or screenshot. Backup copies may persist for some time before being permanently deleted.
13.3 Third-Party Data Limitations
You acknowledge, understand, and agree that any Personal Data, information, profile data, or content that was transferred to, imported into, or made available to our Services using third-party means, services, platforms, or providers such as social networks (including Facebook, Google, Apple, Twitter, Instagram, or other social media platforms), identity providers, authentication services, or other external services, and which continues to be controlled, managed, hosted, or stored by those third-party services, cannot be directly changed, modified, corrected, updated, or deleted by us, and remains fully and exclusively controlled, managed, and governed by such third-party social networks, platforms, or services. We act only as a processor or recipient of information provided by these third parties in accordance with your permissions and their APIs, and we do not have the authority or ability to modify or delete data at its source on those third-party platforms. If you wish to modify or delete information that originated from or is stored on third-party social networks or services, you must do so directly through those third-party platforms by accessing your account settings, privacy settings, or data management tools on the relevant third-party service. Any changes you make on third-party platforms may affect what information is subsequently shared with us, but will not retroactively change information that has already been shared. We may retain copies of information previously shared with us by third-party services even after you modify or delete it on those platforms, subject to our data retention policies and applicable laws.
13.4 Marketing Opt-Out
You have the right to object to, opt out of, unsubscribe from, or ask us in writing not to use your Personal Data, contact information, or profile information for the purposes of marketing, promotional communications, advertising, direct marketing, marketing research, or other non-essential marketing-related purposes. If you do not wish to receive marketing emails, promotional offers, newsletters, special announcements, surveys, or other marketing communications from us, you may opt out by: (a) clicking the "unsubscribe" link included at the bottom of marketing emails we send you; (b) adjusting your communication preferences and notification settings in your account settings within our Services; (c) contacting us directly through the contact information provided in this Privacy Policy with your opt-out request; or (d) following any other opt-out instructions provided in the communications we send you. Please note that even if you opt out of marketing communications, you may still receive non-marketing communications from us, such as essential service-related communications, transactional messages, account notifications, security alerts, administrative messages, legal notices, updates to our Terms of Service or Privacy Policy, customer support responses, and other communications necessary for the operation of your account and our Services. These essential communications are not considered marketing and cannot be opted out of while you maintain an active account. It may take several days for opt-out requests to be fully processed across all our systems. Please also note that opting out of marketing communications from us does not affect marketing communications you may receive from third parties or through third-party advertising networks, which must be managed separately through those third parties' opt-out mechanisms.
